We are currently open to the public on Saturdays from 10:00am-1:30pm, Wednesdays from 10:00am-1:00pm, and Thursdays from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Please check our Events Calendar for a schedule of current programming.

School Field Trips

We are excited to offer the Nurture Nature Center as a destination for school field trips in the Lehigh Valley. We provide field trips for a variety of age groups, from 1st grade to high school. You will find information on our standard programs and pricing below. All prices are for field trips within regular school day hours. Science on Sphere® Programs

Best of the Sphere Program

LENGTH: 1 hour

COST: $5.00 per student with a 20 student minimum (teachers and chaperones free)

AGES: All ages

This docent-led program features the ten most exciting displays available on the sphere, including the Japanese tsunami, the Earth at night, and global airplane traffic. Be amazed and learn about science!

Journey through the Solar System

Length: 1 hour

Cost: $5.00 per student with a 20 student minimum (teachers and chaperones free)

Ages: All ages

Take a journey through the solar system by visiting the sun, the Earth’s moon, and all the planets. Student will learn about all the planets and about the characteristics that make Earth unique. The program is docent-led program and features two short sphere movies produced by NASA.

Rising Waters Program

LENGTH: 1 hour

Cost: $5.00 per student with a 20 student minimum (teachers and chaperones free).

AGES: 7^th grade and up

This program covers hurricanes, rainfall patterns, growing populations, land use and flooding. Students will come away with a better understanding of the differences between weather and climate. Take a global look at a regional problem and learn about how individuals can act on these issues in their communities.

Community Groups

Community Groups are welcome to visit the Nurture Nature Center for a free group tour of the building during our open house hours on Wednesdays from 10am-1pm. We are also open to the public from 10am-1:30pm on Saturdays with Science on a Sphere® presentations at 12:00pm (admission to this program is $2.00 per person). We are also open from 10:00am-1:00pm on Wednesdays and from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Thursdays. We encourage group visits to these regularly scheduled programs. Large groups are encouraged to call ahead to register.

Costs for Community Visits:

Science on a Sphere® Show and Group Tour: $5.00 per person during regular business hours with a minimum group size of 20 people; additional costs apply outside of regular business hours (Monday – Friday from 10am-4pm).

Cub Scouts

Activity: Science Pin Activity

Cost: $10.00 per Cub Scout; parents and leaders free

Group Size: Minimum of 15 Cub Scouts ($150.00 minimum charge for program); Maximum of 30 Cub Scouts

We currently offer a 2-hour program designed specifically for Cub Scouts to earn their Science Pins at the Nurture Nature Center. During their visit, scouts will see a show on our Science on a Sphere®, learn about the scientific method, and carry out two short experiments.
